In a Nutshell
We are looking for a dynamic, rosette standard Sous Chef to work with the Head Chef in this busy 60 cover hotel brasserie based in 40 bedroomed independent hotel with a fantastic reputation.
Responsibilities of the Sous Chef
- As Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing all aspects of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Help create and develop new menu items, ensuring high quality and consistency
- Supervise and train hotel kitchen staff, providing guidance and support as needed
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as necessary
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain a clean and organized hotel kitchen environment
- Assist in managing food costs and minimizing waste
- Support the Head Chef in creating schedules and managing labor costs for the hotel kitchen
Qualifications for the Sous Chef
- Previous experience working at rosette level using fresh food
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to effectively supervise a team
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
